Lucas Torreira "really happy" at Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira says that he is "getting to grips" with Unai Emery's demands as he waits to make his full debut for the club.

Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has insisted that he is "really happy" with how he is settling in at the club, despite being yet to make his full debut following his summer move from Sampdoria.

The 22-year-old has featured off the bench in all three of Arsenal's Premier League matches so far this season, with fellow new arrival Matteo Guendouzi and Granit Xhaka being preferred by manager Unai Emery.

However, Torreira is confident that he is beginning to get to grips with Emery's demands and believes that the team will continue to improve after picking up their first win of the season against West Ham United on Saturday.

"I'm really happy. It's all very new for me because I've come from a different type of league. The climate is different here and the way of life too, but I'm settling in nicely and training hard – the sessions are different too," he told the club's official website.

"The confidence will grow with every game, so that's great. I'm one of the newer players and I've just joined up with the squad. There are a lot of young players and we're working very hard, with a lot of intensity.

"We're getting to grips with what the coach wants from us and I think we've played some good football in the past few games. We got our first win which was massive for us, but there's a long road ahead and a lot of games to play, so the best thing for us now is to rest up, focus on our next game and concentrate on our preparation, which is vital."

Arsenal's next match sees them face newly-promoted Cardiff City in South Wales on Sunday.
