Arsene Wenger confident of third place

Arsene Wenger remains confident of guiding Arsenal to a third-placed Premier League finish after their frustrating 0-0 draw with Sunderland.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted that he is confident about finishing third in the Premier League despite tonight's setback in the 0-0 draw with Sunderland.

The Black Cats battled to a hard-earned point at the Emirates, which saw them win their relegation battle. Consequently, Wenger's side missed the chance to guarantee a third-placed finish and avoid a Champions League qualifier.

Three points separate the Gunners from fourth-placed Manchester United ahead of the final day on Sunday, and the Frenchman says that his side can put things right against West Bromwich Albion.

"Have I got any nerves about finishing third? No. We want to win our game on Sunday, that's all," he told the club's official website.

"We want to prepare to win the game on Sunday. You could see that some players are a bit [tired]."

Wenger's troops have picked up two points from a possible nine since beating Hull City 3-1 at the start of the month.
