Arsenal players 'ask Freddie Ljungberg for guidance ahead of Unai Emery'

Arsenal players are reportedly now asking assistant manager Freddie Ljungberg for guidance as opposed to under-fire boss Unai Emery.

Arsenal players have reportedly resorted to asking assistant manager Freddie Ljungberg for guidance as opposed to under-fire boss Unai Emery.

The Spaniard has come under heavy pressure following a defeat to Sheffield United followed by consecutive draws at home with Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Moreover, Emery has been criticised for his handling of Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka as well as his continued decision to omit Mesut Ozil from the starting XI.

According to The Mirror, some younger Arsenal players, who are known to mock the Spaniard in training, have resorted to speaking with Ljungberg instead.

It is claimed that this preference for Ljungberg stems from the fact that Emery does not provide clear or consistent tactical instructions.

Despite reports suggesting that Jose Mourinho was being lined up as the next Arsenal boss, Emery has received assurances that his job is not under threat.
