WAP reaches top spot of UK singles chart
Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's 'WAP' reaches the top spot on the UK singles chart, ending Joel Corry and MNEK's six-week reign at the summit.

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's 'WAP' has reached the summit of the UK singles chart, according to data provided by the Official Charts Company.

The song - controversial for its ever-so-racy lyrics - had spent two weeks at number two but tops this week's chart after registering 65,000 chart sales, a figure that includes 8.5 million streams.

'WAP' brings to an end Joel Corry and MNEK's six-week reign at the top with 'Head & Heart', which drops to two, while 24kGoldn's 'Mood' is a big riser, jumping seven places to a high of four.

Calvin Harris's collaboration with The Weeknd, 'Over Now', is the highest new entry at 33, ahead of Blackpink and Selena Gomez's 'Ice Cream', which charts at a disappointing 39.

Meanwhile, a close five-way battle in the albums chart saw London rapper Nines emerge victorious, debuting at number one with Crabs In A Bucket after a strong final 24 hours of sales.

Veterans Metallica have to settle for second with S&M2, with Gregory Porter's All Rise at three, Disclosure's Energy at four and Katy Perry's Smile an underwhelming fifth.
