The BBC has given a two-series recommission to Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr ahead of the new series starting this week.

The competition show sees budding interior designers compete against each other in a series of decoration challenges in the hopes of impressing regular judge Michelle Ogundehin and a rotation of guest judges.

The double recommission ensures that the show will remain on air until at least 2027, with applications for the 2026 series due to close imminently ahead of filming starting this summer.

Carr, who also works on a home makeover show with Amanda Holden for the BBC, said: "To get your show recommissioned is always a lovely thing but to get it recommissioned twice is really special. And it's such a wonderful feeling to know that Interior Design Masters will, for the next two years, be keeping the UK entertained and also inspired.

"I feel the show goes from strength to strength and whether Interior Design Masters makes you giggle on the settee or propels you up a stepladder with a drill in hand to give your room some much-needed TLC, we hope we put a smile on your face."

This year's series - which has a new winner's prize of a John Lewis homewares collaboration - begins this Thursday, April 10 at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
