ITV gives a two-series recommission to Alan Carr's autobiographical comedy Changing Ends.

ITV has handed Alan Carr a two-series recommission to his autobiographical comedy Changing Ends.

The show, which documents the comedian's life growing up as an awkward teen in the 1980s, ranks as this year's biggest comedy launch on any channel and has racked up 13m streams on ITVX for its first two series.

The third and fourth series - comprising six episodes each - will be recorded back to back, with the first of those likely to air in 2025.

"To get your own sitcom recommissioned for a series is the most wonderful news ever, but to have TWO series recommissioned is utterly mind-blowing and such a huge compliment which I do not take lightly," said Carr, who will continue to co-write and star in the new series.

"I know how much this show has resonated with the viewers and I promise I won't let you down, and for someone whose actual life at times feels like a sitcom, believe me there are more tales from my childhood to be told.

"Two series commissioned eh? My dream of Changing Ends becoming Northampton's answer to The Crown becomes two steps closer to being a reality."
