The new series of The Masked Singer UK will be filmed across two weeks next month in front of a live studio audience.

The second series of The Masked Singer UK will be filmed next month in front of a live studio audience.

The show, which features mystery celebrities singing behind elaborate costumes, was a sleeper hit when it first aired on ITV earlier this year, prompting an immediate renewal.

With TV productions now getting back on track, the second series is to be filmed next month - and a relaxation in government guidelines means that the show has been cleared to feature a live studio audience.

SRO, a company which handles audience assembly for the series, says on its website: "If selected to attend, we will send you detailed guidance and protocols devised to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infections in audience members and staff. You must adhere to this guidance, or you will be removed from the filming location or refused entry.

"It is important that you understand that we are not able to guarantee that you will not be exposed to COVID-19. Therefore, you should consider both your own medical health (and any specific risks associated with COVID-19) and that of those in your household or others with whom you may come into contact with. By attending the filming, you agree that you understand the risks."

Joel Dommett will return as host for series two, with the entire judging panel - Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and Ken Jeong - also back.

The new series of eight episodes will be filmed at Bovingdon Studios in Hemel Hempstead between September 14 and 27, meaning that it could be on air as soon as late October or early November to form part of ITV's pre-Christmas schedules.
