Saved By The Bell star Dustin Diamond is reportedly informed that his cancer is terminal.

Saved By The Bell star Dustin Diamond has reportedly been given the devastating news that his cancer is terminal.

The 44-year-old was admitted to hospital in early January after complaining of complete body pain and testing revealed that he has stage four lung cancer.

Diamond immediately began a course of chemotherapy, but now close friend Dan Block has told The Sun that doctors have informed the star - best known as Screech in the kids comedy - that he may only have weeks to live.

"We do not have any specific timelines, but we know that Dustin needs a miracle to overcome the small cell carcinoma he's been diagnosed with," he said.

"He was told weeks to five months is the average but a small percentage of people have lived one to two years with it being stage 4.

"We are hoping that he is one of the people to outlive the odds and that we get as much time with him as possible."

Block added that Diamond's final wishes are to meet Justin Chancellor from the heavy metal band Tool and to visit the Star Wars exhibit at Disney World in Florida.
