Prince Harry, Meghan Markle sign up for Oprah Winfrey interview

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sign up for an interview with Oprah Winfrey on primetime US TV.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be interviewed by broadcasting giant Oprah Winfrey next month.

The move comes a year after the couple stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family, citing press intrusion into their private lives as the reason for their decision.

The pair have since moved to California with son Archie and have embarked on a career in the entertainment industry, signing nine-figure deals with Netflix and Spotify, while yesterday they announced that they are expecting their second child.

The 90-minute interview, Oprah With Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special, will air on Sunday, March 7 in the US and will start with Oprah speaking to Markle one-on-one before they are joined by the Duke of Sussex.

Topics Markle will be asked about include "stepping into royal life, marriage, motherhood, her philanthropic work and how she handles life under the public eye", while as a couple they will talk about their relocation to the US and their future goals.

The interview has yet to receive a UK broadcast date, although CBS owner Viacom also owns Channel 5, making the broadcaster the most likely destination for the programme in the UK.
