Katie Price says that her terminally ill mother Amy Price is down to 34% lung capacity as she battles idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

Katie Price has revealed that she has offered her mother one of her own lungs as she continues her fight against a terminal illness.

Two years ago Amy Price - now aged 69 - was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a progressive disease causing scarring of the lungs for which there is currently no cure.

Speaking to Simon Thomas on his Life, Interrupted podcast in an interview recorded in April, Katie said: "She got told a couple of years ago - it's coming up to three years - that she would have three to five years left of her life.

"You know, it's going to happen. She still does her spinning classes, she's got like 34% left of her lung capacity so now she has started oxygen, which isn't nice to see because in my head, once you start the oxygen and you need that, you know it's coming."

On the options available to her mother, she continued: "She's waiting to see if she can have a lung transplant. I even offered my lung to her but it's not that easy. You have to be ill enough to have it because if you are too well, they won't give it, but then you have still got to be well enough to take it.

"Although my mum could have it now, it doesn't mean to say that she'd still survive it, because it can reject in three weeks and it only prolongs your life for five years."
