Normal People's Paul Mescal took a birthday beating at an Australian boxing gym this week.
The actor, who turned 25 on Tuesday, made a trip to the Bondi Boxing Club on his big day and volunteered to act as a human punching bag for a procession of young boxers.
Footage of his pounding was uploaded to the gym's Instagram account alongside the message: "Happy birthday Paul Mescal"
Mescal is currently in Australia filming a new adaptation of Carmen, the 1845 novella that was popularised by Bizet's famous opera.
