Normal People producers issue a takedown notice after a 22-minute compilation of sex scenes from the show is uploaded to Pornhub.

Normal People producers have issued a takedown notice to Pornhub after clips from the show appeared on the X-rated website.

A 22-minute compilation of the show's raunchiest moments was uploaded to the site last week and was viewed hundreds of thousands of times before being removed.

Ed Guiney, exec producer on the show, told Variety: "We're hugely disappointed that excerpts from the series of Normal People have been used in this way.

"It's both a violation of copyright and more importantly, it's deeply disrespectful to the actors involved and to the wider creative team.

"We have taken appropriate steps to require that the content be removed from the platform with immediate effect."

Pornhub VP Corey Price said: "Pornhub is fully compliant with the law. We respect all copyright requests and as soon as we become aware of the existence of these types of videos on our site, we have them removed."

Since its launch less than a month ago, Normal People has become BBC Three's most successful show ever, with almost 40 million requests logged via iPlayer to date.
