Watch: Trailer for new Netflix documentary about Jeffrey Epstein

Watch the trailer for Netflix's new documentary about the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Netflix has released a first trailer for its upcoming documentary series about the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Accused of being one of America's most prolific sex offenders, the American financier was arrested in July 2019 on allegations of organising a sex trafficking ring of underage girls.

The following month Epstein was found dead in his jail cell at the age of 66, having apparently committed suicide, although his lawyers have since suggested that he could have been murdered.

In the UK, Epstein's case gained notoriety late last year when Newsnight ran an embarrassing interview with his former friend Prince Andrew, which led to the Queen's son stepping back from Royal duties.

Netflix's new four-part documentary, Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich, promises to give a voice to Epstein's victims for the first time.

A synopsis for the series reads: "Leading up to his 2019 arrest, mysterious tycoon Jeffrey Epstein was accused of abusing women and underage girls for decades, assembling a network of enablers to help carry out and cover up his crimes.

"Epstein came from humble beginnings yet managed to lie and manipulate his way to the top of the financial world. He eventually gained tremendous wealth and power while running an international sex trafficking ring.

"The serial sex abuser made a secret plea deal with the government in 2008 avoiding a potential life sentence and continued to abuse women.

"By revealing their emotional scars, some for the very first time, the sisterhood of survivors intend to stop predators - and the American justice system - from silencing the next generation."

The series will drop Wednesday, May 27 at 8am on Netflix. Watch the trailer now below!
