A new Little Britain sketch will air next week as part of the BBC's Big Night In.

Little Britain will return for a one-off sketch as part of the BBC's The Big Night In broadcast next week, it has been confirmed.

The three-hour programme on BBC One is a joint venture between Comic Relief and Children in Need and will feature a mix of comedy sketches and performances.

The public will also be able to donate money to both charities, which are helping the most vulnerable sections of society throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

Catherine Tate has already confirmed that she will be resurrecting her Lauren the schoolgirl character for a new sketch and now David Walliams and Matt Lucas are also on board with a mystery Little Britain skit.

The BBC has not revealed which characters will appear in the new scene, insisting: "Details of the sketch will remain under wraps until the live show."

Recent rumours have suggested that Walliams and Lucas could bring back Little Britain for a new full series, possibly on streaming service Netflix rather than the BBC.

The Big Night In airs next Thursday, April 23 from 7pm on BBC One.
