Life On Mars actor discusses "final chapter"

Life On Mars and Ashes To Ashes actor Dean Andrews talks about the upcoming "final chapter" of the shows.

Life On Mars and Ashes To Ashes actor Dean Andrews has said that he is hoping to appear in the upcoming "final chapter" of the two shows.

The original show starred John Simm as a police detective who found himself transported back to the 1970s, with Keeley Hawes finding herself in a similar predicament in the 1980s in Ashes To Ashes.

The final episode of Ashes appeared to tie up the loose ends from both shows but creator Matthew Graham has recently revealed that he is working on an epilogue.

Andrews appeared in both series as DS Ray Carling and is now part of the Emmerdale cast but is hopeful a way can be worked out for him to reprise his role.

Talking about the revival, he told This Morning: "There's a very, very good chance of that happening.

"The writers Matt Graham and Ashley Pharoah are in the process of writing four or five episodes, and getting everybody back together who wants to come back.

"I believe Phil [Glenister] and John are very, very excited about it, Daniel Mays, myself... they are hoping everyone wants to come back, and they want to make the story back in the '70s and the '80s and the modern day.

"I've just got to try and beg Emmerdale at some point in my life, if they still want me."

The miniseries would not air until next year at the earliest.
