Katherine Ryan: 'I say a daily prayer for Betty White'
Katherine White lauds comedy legend Betty White as "an amazing person" and her "number one" inspiration in the industry.

Katherine Ryan has named the legendary Betty White as her "number one" inspiration in the entertainment industry.

White, 98, has been working in the business since 1939, starring in numerous iconic comedy series, including Life With Elizabeth, Golden Girls, The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Hot In Cleveland.

Despite her advancing years White has shown no signs of retiring and recently signed up to star in a TV Christmas movie - a level of stamina that comedian Ryan believes is deserving of more recognition.

"Every day I wake up and say a prayer to Betty White," Ryan told PA. "She's in her late 90s and still with us, and I don't know why we wait for celebrities to pass before honouring them on social media.

"With all her achievements, and what an amazing person she is, she's my number one."

A spokesperson for White recently revealed that she is doing "fine" in isolation during the coronavirus pandemic.
