Kanye West posts public apology to wife Kim Kardashian

Kanye West asks for wife Kim Kardashian's forgiveness in a statement on Twitter.

Kanye West has made a public apology to wife Kim Kardashian following a string of embarrassing incidents over the last few weeks.

The 43-year-old, who has bipolar disorder, has sparked fears for his mental health as he embarks upon a campaign to become elected president later this year.

Kanye has been on a number of lengthy - and sometimes incoherent - Twitter rants in the last week, claiming that he has been trying to divorce Kim for the best part of two years and branding his mother-in-law Kris Jenner a white supremacist.

Kim responded by asking the public to show patience with her husband as he deals with his bipolar disorder and avoided criticising him or addressing him in her statement.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday night, Kanye wrote: "I would like to apologize to my wife Kim for going public with something that was a private matter. I did not cover her like she has covered me.

"To Kim I want to say I know I hurt you. Please forgive me. Thank you for always being there for me."

Earlier on Saturday Kanye was pictured at his Wyoming ranch with friend Justin Bieber.
