Joe Wicks to undertake 24-hour PE workout session for Children in Need

Joe Wicks is to take part in a 24-hour PE session in order to raise money for the BBC's Children in Need.

Joe Wicks has announced that he will attempt to take part in a 24-hour PE workout next month in an effort to raise money for Children in Need.

The 34-year-old, also known as The Body Coach, gained millions of fans during the coronavirus lockdown earlier this year by streaming live daily PE lessons on his YouTube channel.

The Joe Wicks 24 Hour PE Challenge will start at 9.25am on Thursday, November 12 and end exactly 24 hours later, with his progress being tracked closely throughout by BBC Radio 2.

Wicks's efforts, which will see a number of celebrity guests join him via Zoom, will also be broadcast live on the BBC Red Button and iPlayer.

"2020 has been a challenging year for us all, so what better way to end it than by raising money for BBC Children in Need, a charity very close to my heart," said Wicks.

"Please show your support by donating whatever you can to this brilliant charity, and get involved by tuning in to work out with me and post your pictures on social media."

Last year Rylan Clark-Neal embarked upon a 24-hour singing session dubbed The Great Ka-RY-oke Challenge, which raised over £2 million for the cause.
