The BBC has announced that its lockdown comedy series Staged has been renewed for a second series.
The short-form comedy aired earlier this year and starred David Tennant and Michael Sheen as two actors who were forced into performing rehearsals for their new West End show online after the coronavirus pandemic hit.
The new series is set as a second, potentially more serious wave of the virus threatens to plunge people back into isolation and will see the returns of Tennant, Sheen and Tennant's wife Georgia Tennant alongside new addition Ben Schwartz.
"It's been so great to see how much people enjoyed the first series. Seemed like the laughs were much appreciated," said Sheen.
"It made us really excited about taking it further and going in some surprising and hopefully enjoyable directions this time."
The new series is expected to air on BBC One later this year.
