Darling Buds Of May reboot delayed until 2022?

The upcoming reboot of The Darling Buds Of May is reportedly delayed by a full year due to coronavirus.

The new version of The Darling Buds Of May has reportedly been postponed by a full year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The original series aired on ITV from 1991 and 1993 and starred David Jason and Pam Ferris as the heads of the Larkin family in 1950s rural Kent.

The reboot, which will see Bradley Walsh and Joanna Scanlan take over as 'Pop' and 'Ma', had been due to film this summer but the problems caused by coronavirus have rendered it impractical.

"It needs to shoot in full summer," a source told The Mirror. "We're resigned to it being The Darling Buds of next May now."

The newspaper also says that the next series of Vera with Brenda Blethyn has been pushed back for the same reason and will now "not air until the end of 2021 at the earliest".
