Dame Judi Dench accidentally makes Skype call in the bath

Self-isolating Dame Judi Dench reveals that she accidentally Skyped a friend while in the bath.

Dame Judi Dench has revealed that she accidentally called a friend on Skype while in the bath during the coronavirus lockdown.

Like the majority of the country, the 85-year-old is currently isolating at home in a bid to avoid the deadly COVID-19 disease, which has killed more than 175,000 people worldwide.

Dench has been getting to grips with modern technology in order to stay in touch with friends and family - and has even become a TikTok sensation with her 22-year-old grandson Sam.

The Oscar winner recently called a friend on Skype to wish him a happy birthday then went to take a bath, unaware that she had called him back.

"I went up for my bath, I had my laptop with me," Dench told The One Show. "I press the button and there, suddenly, was this person. And there am I, in the bath."

Dench will next be seen in Blithe Spirit, a big-screen adaptation of the play of the same name.
