Channel 4 updates DOGs with 'Stay Safe' message

Channel 4 adapts its on-screen messaging with the new message 'Stay Safe' in order to "communicate important public health advice".

Channel 4 has changed its on-screen messaging to reflect the latest government guidelines on the coronavirus lockdown.

Since the UK entered lockdown on March 23, Channel 4 has had the message #StayAtHome next to the channel logo across its portfolio, including E4, More4, 4Seven and 4Music.

Earlier this week the government adapted its key messaging to 'Stay Alert', however, slightly easing restrictions to allow the public to take unlimited outdoor exercise and sit in green spaces.

As a result Channel 4 has today updated its own messaging to feature the new hashtag #StaySafe.

"As we enter the next phase of this crisis, we will continue to use our reach and trusted relationship with our audience to communicate important public health advice," explained Zaid Al-Qassab, Channel 4's chief marketing officer.

"Our core message over the coming weeks is to stay safe, which is consistent with advice across the UK, and audiences will begin to see this across the Channel 4 portfolio."

COVID-19 has now killed more than 300,000 people worldwide, including over 33,000 in the UK.
