Channel 4 announces slate of coronavirus documentaries

Channel 4 announces four one-off documentaries relating to the coronavirus pandemic.

Channel 4 has announced a host of fast-turnaround documentaries in the light of the coronavirus pandemic.

Most of the world are on lockdown due to the escalating severity of the disease, which has killed more than 55,000 people and infected over a million.

A special debate programme Pandemic: Can Science Beat Coronavirus? will feature a panel of leading scientific experts discussing the facts surrounding COVID-19 and will air on Channel 4 later this month.

NHS Heroes will follow a group of frontline staff as they battle to save lives, while Corona Street tracks the impact of the disease and isolation on a small neighbourhood.

The final commission is a one-off film, What Did South Korea Get Right?, which looks at how the country's fast response to the pandemic has led to it avoiding a full UK-style lockdown.
