Singer Jeremih 'out of intensive care' amid coronavirus battle

Jeremih takes a turn for the better in his battle with coronavirus and is now recovering outside of intensive care, his family says.

'Birthday Sex' singer Jeremih has been released from intensive care but remains in hospital as he battles coronavirus, his family have revealed.

The 33-year-old was in a critical condition a week ago after picking up the deadly disease, prompting friends including 50 Cent and Chance The Rapper to ask fans to pray for the singer's recovery.

In an update on Saturday, his family said in a statement: "Jeremih has been transferred out of ICU. He will spend the rest of his recovery time in a regular hospital room.

"The true healing begins. Thank you all for your prayers and wishes."

Although a vaccine is on the horizon, the US continues to suffer more than any other country in the world with COVID-19, with more than 260,000 people now having died.
