Queen and Adam Lambert to release live album in October

Queen and Adam Lambert announce plans to release a live album in October in lieu of a 2020 tour.

Queen and Adam Lambert have announced plans to release a new live album, Queen + Adam Live Around The World, on October 2.

The iconic rock band have now been touring with American Idol star Lambert for around seven years, playing to more than four million people worldwide in that time, and had been due to go on tour again this year.

Coronavirus put paid to those plans, however, and the group have now decided to instead release a record showcasing their favourite live performances from across the last seven years.

The 20-track album will include classics such as 'Somebody To Love', 'Another One Bites The Dust' and 'Don't Stop Me Now', as well as their entire set from the Fire Fight Australia concert in Sydney earlier this year.

"As we all grapple with the challenge of creating live shows in a world dominated by a formidable viral enemy, it seemed the perfect time for us to create a collection of hand-picked live highlights from our Queen shows over the last seven years with our brother Adam Lambert," said Brian May.

Lambert added: "When we couldn't tour this year we wanted to give the fans something in place of that, and a Live album just felt right.

"It's the first time we have released an album together and we have had a lot of fun putting it together, picking out favourite performances over the past seven years."

The band's UK and European tour has now been rescheduled for Spring 2021 and will include a 10-day residency at The O2 in June.
