Scream writer Kevin Williamson has confirmed that the upcoming fifth movie in the franchise will be titled Scream.
The new film - the first since director Wes Craven's death - will reunite Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette for a fresh round of terror more than a decade on from the events of Scream 4.
Earlier this week it emerged that filming on the new movie had already finished and now Williamson has provided an update for fans on social media.
"That's a wrap on Scream, which I'm excited to announce is the official title of the next film!" he wrote.
"Nearly 25 years ago, when I wrote Scream and Wes Craven brought it to life, I could not have imagined the lasting impact it would have on you, the fans.
"I'm excited for you to return to Woodsboro and get really scared again."
Scream is due for release on January 14, 2022.
