Chadwick Boseman confirmed for new series What If...?

Chadwick Boseman's final outing as Black Panther will come in the new animated Disney+ series What If...?

Chadwick Boseman's final performance as Black Panther will come in the new Disney+ series What If...?, it has been revealed.

The actor tragically died at the age of 43 in August following a private battle with colon cancer - just months before filming had been due to start on Black Panther 2.

Marvel chief Kevin Feige has now revealed that prior to his death, Boseman recorded voiceovers for multiple episodes of the new Disney+ animated series, which presents alternative versions of established Marvel stories.

"[He] came in about four times and recorded numerous episodes," Feige told Emmy Magazine. "In hindsight, it's very moving."

What If...? will premiere on Disney+ in Summer 2021, while Black Panther 2 will go ahead next year without Boseman's character being recast.
