Love Island's Marcel reveals he "nearly died"

Love Island's Marcel Somerville reveals that he "nearly died" in an incident which led to him being hospitalised.

Love Island star Marcel Somerville has provided fans with an update on his condition after he was hospitalised last week.

The 31-year-old was rushed to A&E on Thursday after allegedly "vomiting violently" before passing out.

Posting a short video from his hospital bed, Somerville appeared groggy and thanked followers for his support, but did not divulge why he had been hospitalised.

"This is just a message to everyone who's been sending me all the prayers, they don't go amiss - I really appreciate them, I really needed them right now," he said.

"It's been a very, very hard few days for me. Thursday was literally the worst day of my life. I nearly died."

Somerville is thought to have been tested for suspected coronavirus.
