Love Island's Alex Bowen admits lockdown is getting hard

Love Island alum Alex Bowen admits that he has "had a bit of a meltdown" in the coronavirus lockdown.

Former Love Island star Alex Bowen has revealed that he has had "a bit of a meltdown" as the UK approaches its eighth week of coronavirus lockdown.

The 28-year-old appeared in the second series of the ITV2 reality show in 2016 and went on to marry his partner from the show, Olivia Buckland, two years later.

The pair are now isolating together at their recently-bought mansion in Essex but the Wolverhampton-born model admits that lockdown life is getting harder for him.

"I've always been a big kid and I've realised that even more in lockdown. I had a bit of a meltdown the other day," he told The Sun.

"I can't stay in the house any more. I know it's not a hard thing, but you get so bored and stuck in the same routine.

"It's good to stay in for a while, but then everything starts to close in. But I know there's worse things that can happen."

The pair finished runners-up in their series but have gone on to become two of the show's most successful sides.
