Love Island producers are hoping to convince Michael Owen to visit the villa later in the series, according to former contestant Marcel Somerville.
The England and Liverpool legend is father to 19-year-old contestant Gemma Owen, who has been one of the most talked-about contestants in the early weeks of the series.
Should she still be in the villa towards the end of the series, then she will be part of the traditional 'Meet The Parents' segment, in which the islanders meet their other half's parents in person for the first time.
"What Love Island want to do is have Michael Owen walk through the doors – that's going to be TV gold," Somerville, islander in 2017, told The Mirror.
"Their goal is to have a hero arc and I feel like it's coming along. She's a person they want to turn into a main character – they put her ex-boyfriend in the villa for a reason, as she's got more dimensions to her.
"At first, she came across snotty and like she's entitled, but now she's coming across more normal."
Gemma is currently re-coupled with Italian hunk Davide Sanclimenti as friends after new girl Danica Taylor dramatically took her partner Luca Bish during last night's episode.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
