Shane Richie joins I'm A Celebrity?

Shane Richie reportedly joins the lineup for the new series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

Former EastEnders star Shane Richie has reportedly joined the lineup for the new series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The new run of the show is now just over two weeks away from starting on ITV, with Gwrych Castle in Wales serving as the new setting after coronavirus made holding the show in Australia infeasible.

According to The Sun, Richie, 56, has gone into quarantine ahead of a stint on the series alongside fellow soap stars Jessica Plummer, whose character was killed off on EastEnders last month, and Coronation Street legend Beverley Callard.

"ITV have always wanted Shane for the jungle but with panto not happening this year and other work opportunities less likely, he decided this was the time to take the plunge," a source told the newspaper.

"Going to North Wales is less of a huge commitment than flying halfway across the world, too, so he jumped at the chance.

"He's already being talked about by production as an early favourite as he's such a likeable bloke and known to millions of soap fans.

"ITV are delighted they've managed to convince him to take part."

Other celebs thought to be in the lineup include Sir Mo Farah, Vernon Kay, AJ Pritchard and Victoria Derbyshire.
