I'm A Celebrity: Plans for campmate reunion party 'axed'

Plans for the contestants on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! to hold a reunion party next week have been dropped.

Campmates' plans to have a reunion party once I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! ends have reportedly been dropped.

The 12 contestants on this year's series have been discussing getting together next week following this Friday's final episode - unaware of the new coronavirus rules in place around the UK.

According to The Mirror, the group have been plotting details of the bash in scenes not broadcast on the show but it will not be able to go ahead due to the new rules.

England is out of a second coronavirus lockdown from today but has entered a tier system which restricts non-household gatherings, while in Wales, where the show is filmed, pubs are to be barred from serving alcohol and must close at 6pm every day starting from Friday.

"Some of the contestants haven't checked the government guidelines for more than a month because they were in lockdown before the show for three weeks and then have been on the show over two weeks now too," a source told the newspaper.

"They thought it would be possible to hire a venue or meet up perhaps in a marquee or something with their partners and were keen to meet up before Christmas.

"Sadly the virus has continued to spread rapidly whilst they have been on the show and it will not be something that can happen soon."

I'm A Celebrity continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
