David Joshua-Anthony quits his role as Andre Clark on Hollyoaks after just one year.

David Joshua-Anthony has quit Hollyoaks after just one year in the role of Andre Clark.

The character first arrived in the village last December and was introduced as the estranged brother of Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence).

Joshua-Anthony has already filmed his final scenes on the soap, however, and will bow out on-screen "in the coming weeks", according to The Sun.

The actor has already removed all mentions of the show from his bio on his social media accounts, despite his exit not having been previously announced.

The news comes as Hollyoaks switches to three episodes a week from Monday ahead of a one-year time jump the week after - a move which has led to a significant proportion of the cast either being axed or choosing to jump.

The latest was confirmed on Friday to be Annie Wallace, who has played headteacher Sally St Clare for the last nine years.
