Denise Welch has joined the cast of Hollyoaks 20 years on from her stint in Coronation Street, it has been announced.
The 62-year-old's casting sees her reunited with former Corrie co-star Nikki Sanderson, who plays Maxine in the soap, as well as fellow Loose Women panellist Kelle Bryan.
Welsh will play the part of Maxine's mother Trish, who arrives in the village with her shady boyfriend Brad - much to the shock of her estranged daughter.
"I am thrilled to be joining the cast of Hollyoaks in this, their 25th year," said Welch, who made the announcement on today's Loose Women.
"I'm looking forward to working with some old friends and making new ones. The character of Trish Minniver is an actor's dream and I can't wait to introduce her to you."
Trish's first scenes will air in January 2021.
Meanwhile, the soap has also announced the casting of Rhiannon Clements as Cormac's daughter Summer.
