"Much-loved" character to return to Emmerdale

Emmerdale executive producer Jane Hudson reveals that a "much-loved" character will return to the Dales in the coming months.

Emmerdale executive producer Jane Hudson has revealed that the soap is bringing back a former cast member in the coming months.

The revelation came this week during a press conference with soaps journalists, with Hudson revealing that the mystery actor or actress concerned has already started filming new scenes.

"We have got a very much-loved character coming back to the village and that's all I'm going to tell you," she said.

"But they are fantastic, they light up the screen, there will be lots of fun with them.

"The actor or actress has already returned to shooting and we are massively excited. So look out for a much-loved character coming up very soon!"

Emmerdale continues Monday to Friday on ITV.
