Remote Doctor Who escape room challenge launches on Zoom

A Doctor Who-themed escape room experience launches virtually via Zoom.

Doctor Who fans can sign up for a virtual version of an escape room challenge themed around the show starting from today.

With in-person escape room experiences impractical at the moment due to the coronavirus pandemic, specialist firm Escape Hunt has developed an online version of the experience that will see users direct a real-life gamesmaster around the room via Zoom.

The Doctor Who: Worlds Collide experience is set in the offices of ChronosCorp HQ, a company who have been attempting to develop commercial time travel but in doing so have caused a tear in the space-time fabric - threatening to let the Cybermen through.

The challenge is to investigate the incident, explore the offices and avoid letting the Cybermen through.

"We're delighted to be expanding our range of at home experiences with remote play games," said Richard Harpham, chief exec at Escape Hunt. "It's fantastic that now, using technology, we can give people the opportunity to play our much-loved physical escape rooms in their own homes."

The one-hour experience costs £60 and allows players from the same or separate households to collaborate to solve the puzzles.
