Olly Alexander will not be replacing Jodie Whittaker on Doctor Who, according to his agent.

Olly Alexander's agent has categorically ruled out him taking over from Jodie Whittaker as The Doctor in Doctor Who.

A report in The Sun On Sunday asserted that the Years & Years star was in "advanced" talks about taking over the iconic role after impressing producers with his turn on Russell T Davies's AIDS-based drama It's A Sin.

According to Alexander's agent Martha Kinn, however, the claims are wide of the mark as he intends to focus on his music career in the immediate future.

In a statement laced with Who references, she wrote: "Even though Olly is often contacted by Cybermen, I'm afraid I have to exterminate this speculation.

"As nice as it is to see interest in this story regenerate, it just isn't true.

"As ood as it might sound, Olly is focusing on his music, for the time being."

Whittaker is rumoured to be leaving the long-running show next year, although her exit has yet to be confirmed - or even commented upon - by the BBC.
