New extended Doctor Who trailer released for 60th anniversary specials

Watch a new, two-minute trailer for the highly-anticipated three anniversary episodes of Doctor Who.

A brand new trailer for Doctor Who's three 60th anniversary specials has been released.

The two-minute clip aired tonight ahead of Strictly Come Dancing's first live show and features David Tennant as a new incarnation of The Doctor alongside his old companion Donna Noble, played by Catherine Tate.

The highly-anticipated episodes - all airing in November - will also introduce Rose (Yasmin Finney), Donna's daughter, who is seen in the trailer interacting with the seemingly-cuddly creature Beep the Meep, voiced by Miriam Margolyes.

Neil Patrick Harris is now confirmed to be playing The Toymaker, an old enemy last seen in 1966 who lured people into childlike games with deadly consequences.

The trailer sees a reunited Donna and Doctor discussing the TARDIS 'running away' because of "something so bad" and features a scene with The Doctor gravely warning Donna: "I don't know... if I can save your life this time."

Jemma Redgrave, who plays the head of UNIT Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, is also seen interacting with The Doctor - confirming for the first time that she will feature in the specials, after previously suggesting that she would only feature in one episode of the 2024 series.

Showrunner Russell T Davies said: "This is just the start, as the fever starts to burn. We're heading for a November full of Doctor Who surprises, for fans and new viewers alike. Stay alert!"
