The Batman story unaffected by coronavirus

The Batman screenwriter Mattson Tomlin says that the film's story will not be changed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Batman screenwriter Mattson Tomlin has confirmed that there will be no changes to the plot to accommodate problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The new movie will see Robert Pattinson take on the role of the caped crusader in what is envisaged to be the first film in a new trilogy under the stewardship of Matt Reeves.

The coronavirus pandemic brought filming to a halt in March and has yet to restart but when it does, Tonlin insists that the story will play out as intended in a pre-coronavirus world.

"The movie is the movie, and I think that right now the plan is to just execute that vision," he told ComicBook.com. "They were quite a ways into shooting as it was.

"And so it really is just how do you finish safely? How do you make sure that everybody can show up for work and then go home and all be okay?"

The Batman is due for release in October 2021.
