Ex-Coronation Street star Faye Brookes joins Dancing On Ice

Former Coronation Street actress Faye Brookes is named as the next celebrity on board for the new series of Dancing On Ice.

Former Coronation Street star Faye Brookes has been revealed as the latest celebrity in the lineup for next year's Dancing On Ice.

The 33-year-old - former partner of singer Gareth Gates - joined the soap in the role of Kate Connor in 2015, departing in a storyline at the end of last year.

"Finally, the news is out," said Brookes after the announcement was made on today's Lorraine. "I am so excited!

"I have to meet with the team, they had to see me on the ice, they had a coach on the ice with us, and they took us through the basics.

"They get to know you and I think this is the first time people are going to see me, not a character – just Faye."

Brookes joins musician Myleene Klass, actress Denise van Outen and fellow soap star Joe-Warren Plant of Emmerdale on the new series, which begins on ITV in January.
