Coronation Street legend Sally Ann Matthews has sparked fears that she may be leaving the soap in the near future.
The 53-year-old has played the part of Jenny Connor, née Bradley, since 1986 - initially leaving the role in 1993 before returning and becoming a key character 22 years later in 2015.
However, in a Q&A with fans on Instagram Live she hinted that she could be departing again in the near future as she claimed that Jenny will not be seen "for quite a long while".
"I chose to get on an airplane because I'm particularly quiet at work," she said. "I've got like a million years off, so I chose to go on an airplane. I've been to Cyprus twice in the past five weeks, and we landed last night and we came back.
"My next holiday plans are on Saturday. We're going to go off on the boat, and then I'm going to just chill on the boat and do nowt, pretty much.
"And then I'm going to go back to Cyprus and do nowt. And at some point, I might get a job and someone might employ me, potentially."
Reading a fan's question aloud, she then said: "'Have you left the street?' Hmm. Hang on, next question."
Later in the video Matthews remarked: "You're not going to be seeing Jenny for quite a long while. So that's that."
Jenny's most recent storyline saw her swindle step-daughter Carla (Alison King) out of cash in order to buy back the Rovers.
