Former Hollyoaks star Jacob Roberts joins the cast of Coronation Street as part of the Lauren storyline.

Former Hollyoaks actor Jacob Roberts has joined the cast of Coronation Street as part of the ongoing storyline involving the disappearance of Lauren (Cait Fitton).

The 33-year-old played Love Boat owner Damon from 2017 until 2023, when the character left the village to open a bar in New York.

According to The Sun, Roberts has now been filming on Corrie for some time - although details of his "shady" character, or how he will be involved with Lauren, are yet to be revealed.

"Corrie bosses were really impressed with Jacob in his audition and he landed the part straight away," a source told the newspaper.

"He's getting along really well with the cast, and will make quite the impact with viewers when he hits screens in a few weeks."

Lauren disappeared from Weatherfield abruptly earlier this year - and after it was initially treated as a missing persons case, police have since become convinced that she was murdered, even though a body has not been found.

Street veteran Roy Cropper (David Neilson) was subsequently arrested and is now in prison accused of her murder.
