Coronation Street legend Sally Dynevor has revealed that she has cut down on alcohol after finding herself having wine almost every night during the coronavirus lockdown.
The 57-year-old, who stars as Sally Metcalfe on the long-running soap, was at home for more than three months after Corrie stopped filming in March just as the UK entered lockdown.
"Nearly every night we were like, 'Oh right, it's wine time', and we'd open a bottle," she told the Daily Star. "You don't want to spend hours in the kitchen making a meal and then not have a glass of wine with it."
She continued: "I ate a lot of cheese. It seemed to be my go-to food.
"I tried to make bread. I made one loaf and it was rock hard, so I gave up.
"I didn't learn a language or do anything extra-ordinary, but I have been reading plays to people who are isolated.
"Paines Plough theatre company give you a telephone number to ring, then you chat and read a play."
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
