Brooke Vincent hoping to return to Coronation Street soon

Coronation Street actress Brooke Vincent is hoping to return to the show soon after taking maternity leave.

Coronation Street actress Brooke Vincent has said that she hopes to be back working on the show soon.

The 27-year-old, who plays Sophie Webster in the soap, took maternity leave last October as she welcomed son Mexx with her partner, Sheffield United footballer Kean Bryan.

Vincent has deliberately taken more time off than maternity leave usually affords but is now keen to return to the cobbles.

Asked when she would be returning during an Instagram Q&A, Vincent replied: "I'm not too sure yet as I didn't take typical maternity.

"I've been on Corrie since I was 11 so it's nice to have some time with my new baby and in our new home before going back. Hopefully not too long though."

Filming on Coronation Street is currently suspended due to the coronavirus lockdown but could resume imminently following a change in government guidelines.
