Premier Sports to launch dedicated rugby channel in January
Premier Sports confirms plans to launch a dedicated 24/7 rugby channel in the new year.

Premier Sports has confirmed plans to launch a dedicated 24/7 rugby channel in the UK from January.

The sports broadcaster now has the rights to all 63 games from the Champions Cup, most games from the Challenge Cup, all 151 URC fixtures and more than 100 Top14 games.

Speaking to Broadcast, Premier's CEO Richard Sweeney announced a line of pundits for the new channel including Lawrence Dallaligo, Simon Zebo, Chris Robshaw, Natasha 'Mo' Hunt, Stephen Ferris, Topsy Ojo, Andrew Trimble, Rob Kearney, Andy Goode, Ian Madigan, John Barclay, Matt Banahan, Tom Shanklin, Chris Paterson, Ryan Wilson and Shane Williams.

The exec also revealed that the new channel would comprise "lots of archive, highlights, and podcasts" and potentially other non-European competitions such as the Japanese Rugby League to provide content for Mondays to Thursdays.

A Premier Sports subscription currently costs £10.99 a month on an annual contract.
