Andrew Neil on verge of announcing GB News exit?
Andrew Neil is about to announce his exit from GB News, according to a report.

Andrew Neil is reportedly planning to officially confirm his exit from GB News in the coming days.

The veteran broadcaster was an instrumental figure in getting the channel to air earlier this year and holds the position of channel chairman.

Neil is also the host of a self-titled 8pm weekday programme, but presented just two weeks of the show in June before departing on an extended summer holiday.

The 72-year-old is said to be deeply frustrated with the direction the channel has taken in his absence, with a move towards more 'populist' discussion topics, while he is also said to be dismayed with the on-air technical blunders that are still continuing three months down the line.

According to a report in The Times, "the channel's top team are reconciled" to Neil's impending departure and are also dealing with unrest among other on-screen talent.

The newspaper says that Simon McCoy and Kirsty Gallacher have expressed their concerns over the direction of the channel, while upcoming new hires are said to include Ann Widdecombe, Martin Daubney and Mahyar Tousi.

Separately, GB News is said to have failed with a "seven-figure offer" to lure former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan to the station.
