Piers Morgan: 'David Walliams is a duplicitous, treacherous piece of work'

Piers Morgan continues his feud with David Walliams, describing the Britain's Got Talent judge as "a duplicitous, treacherous piece of work".

Piers Morgan has stepped up his long-running feud with Britain's Got Talent judge David Walliams, branding him "duplicitous, treacherous piece of work".

The Good Morning Britain host fell out with Walliams last year after discovering that the comedian had liked various disparaging comments about him on Twitter.

An original judge on BGT, Morgan was contacted by Simon Cowell this summer to stand in for him after he broke his back but refused on account of Walliams's continued presence on the judging panel.

"I do have conversations with BGT every now and again, particularly after Simon had his injury," Morgan told The Mirror. "But I couldn't work with Walliams. I think he is a duplicitous, treacherous piece of work.

"He is one of those people who says one thing to your face and then sticks it to you behind your back.

"If he was sitting there I wouldn't be interested. But if he wasn't sitting there, who knows?"

He continued: "I will come back to BGT if the money is right and if they guarantee Walliams gets fired. I might even make it a contractual clause that I get to be the one who tells him he is fired.

"If I was him I would stick to writing his children's books."

Walliams has been part of BGT since 2012 and is already signed up for the 2021 series.
