Jon Courtenay wins Britain's Got Talent

Comedy musician Jon Courtenay is crowned the winner of Britain's Got Talent 2020.

Comedy musician Jon Courtenay has been crowned the winner of Britain's Got Talent 2020.

The 46-year-old, who was Ant and Dec's golden buzzer act, impressed with a brand new routine that referenced the tumult of 2020 through humour and poignancy in equal measure.

Choral group Sign Along With Us came in second place, while fellow comedian Steve Royle finished in third place.

"This is just amazing, I can't believe it," said Courtenay, who has won £250,000 and a place on the next Royal Variety Performance.

"Thank you, this has changed my life. My mum, I can't imagine how you're coping right now - I hope you're still alive."

The final took place four months later than originally planned due to the coronavirus pandemic.
