Big Brother's Nikki Grahame is to move into a private anorexia clinic after fans raise more than £65,000 to help her beat the disease.

Big Brother legend Nikki Grahame will move in to a specialist anorexia clinic on Monday after fans raised more than £65,000 to secure private treatment for her.

The 38-year-old has battled the disease for most of her adult life, although last week it emerged that she has taken a turn for the worse after concerned friends launched a GoFundMe campaign to help her.

In shock pictures showing the extent of her illness, her friends described her as being "in a very bad way" and "struggling on a day to day basis".

The cost of private treatment is thought to be around £25,000 a month, and with more than £65,000 having been raised in just a week, Nikki will now be able to have an extended stay at a facility with specialist care.

An update posted on the fundraising page said: "Nikki has asked us to say she is overwhelmed by the response of the public and feels extremely lucky to have such amazing support.

"Since making this and hitting above & beyond our target, we have been in the process of finding Nikki the best possible facility and care she requires.

"Due to the incredible amount of donations received, we're so happy to say that we have found a facility that is able to take Nikki privately and her road to recovery will begin from Monday.

"Nikki is feeling very hopeful that they can help her smash this horrible illness, once and for all."

Notable donors to the fundraiser include Bit On The Side's Rylan Clark-Neal, fellow Big Brother legend Vanessa Feltz, series seven winner Pete Bennett and Drag Race's Michelle Visage.
