'Big Brother Australia' wraps season ahead of schedule

Big Brother in Australia is reportedly rushed to a conclusion because of coronavirus.

The current season of Big Brother in Australia has reportedly finished earlier than planned due to the coronavirus outbreak.

For the first time in Oz, the show is being pre-recorded months ahead of transmission, supposedly due to the adoption of the North American format, which sees housemates vote each other out instead of the public.

Production was temporarily shut down for two days last month over coronavirus fears and, according to TVBlackBox, Channel Seven subsequently decided to accelerate the rest of the series.

The website says that two housemates were remaining on the final day and the Australian public will select the winner in a special live show later in the year.

Production on the Canadian version of the show was abandoned last month as the COVID-19 crisis escalated, while versions in Italy and India have also finished earlier than planned.
